Question by Chelsey S: would the “Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort” be a good place to stay?
I’ve been planning on taking a trip to Disney this summer with my two girls, one of them are 10 years old and the other is 13. Right now I don’t have the most money to be staying at luxury hotels, so I checked out the Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort and it seemed pretty nice for its price. Has anybody stayed there before? Would it be good for me and my kids? Rate it from 1-5
Thank you!

5!
Seriously, it’s a great resort. And definitely a good value for the money — you can stay on Disney property, get all the benefits (early entry, transportation, etc.) and not spend an arm and a leg (staying at the Value resorts is sometimes cheaper than staying at a hotel off-property).
Any of the value resorts are a good choice, so just have fun!

Any place you stay at Disney is perfect. Every resort is close to all the sites. At the Sports Resort you will find the price to be very affordable
yes I’ve stayed there – if you are on a budget – you might want to get a fridge – there is a fee but it’s worth it for water & pop and milk and lunch meat – IF YOU WILL HAVE A CAR TO GO TO A GROCERY AND GET THIS STUFF.
If not – you’ll have some fast food and ala carte dining options there.
You ‘ll get the benis of the transit system and early in and late stay at the parks so that will be fun –
HAVE A MAGICAL DAY!
this hotel was a 5+!!!!
This hotel might have been the best hotel I have ever stayed at. I also recommend getting the fridge because food there is pricey! There is a pizza place like 3 blocks away. We bought 4 medium pizzas and stuck all of them in our fridge except for one and it lasted us 4 nights. We went to the restaurant in the hotel and they charged like 4 times as much as the pizza place down the block. Overall I would soooooooo recommend going to this hotel. It was a little on the pricey side but then again, You’re on vacation!
It’s absolutely wonderful! The food court is awesome and has a fantastic selection of food! Staying on Disney property has it’s benefits! You get free transportation to and from the parks, you get early admission to the parks – and they are the best resorts!
The pools at All Stars are excellent – it’s well worth the money – I give it a 5!
5+ here too
Not just the Sports but any of the All Stars (Sports, Movies, and Music) or even Pop Century. Check out the site I linked to below. On the first link check out all the All Stars and Pop Century, there are links to photos that you can share with your girls.
The second link is for a list of several discussion boards. I sugges the Resort Board and the Budget board for great info!!
I’ve personally stayed at All Star Movies in a Toy Story Building. Bus transportation is great so no car is really needed.
My favorite value resort is Pop Century…it is the nicest one.
Since you are watching money…you might also look at the hotels that are Disney good neighbors and provide free shuttles to Disney. That is what we are doing this time…staying at

It is a good resort for the money. I would give it a 3. The only down side was having to wait to get a seat on the bus. The wait was an hour when my brother stayed there last August. I was at the Animal Kingdom Lodge and the wait was 5 minutes! We could not believe the difference. Hopefully, they have changed that by now…my brother did complain to Disney. Have fun and enjoy your trip.
I don’t suggest it.
My aunt stayed there and she had to leave to stay at the Port Orleans because it was so bad. There is hardly a window, the room makes you feel clauster-phobic, there isn’t even a door to the bathroom, its a curtain. I’ve heard that the pop century one is good though so I suggest that one over the All star ones.
